LENDING TERMS & CONDITION
General terms for lending
Only registered patrons are allowed to lend. Lending cannot be made by patrons who had their membership suspended. Patron membership may get suspended due to a number of reasons such as unpaid fine, over limit lending, unreturned materials as the due date stated, discipline action taken to patrons or suspended from the university.

Open shelves collections
All patrons may lend materials from the open shelves collections depending on their category of membership. Patrons may renew their loaned materials 2 times in a row depending to the noted terms and conditions.

Red Spot collections
Only a book can be lent from this collection to the patrons for one night or before a public holiday. During the semester period, lending can be made possible after 4.30 pm daily from Monday to Friday or an hour before the library closes in Saturday and Sunday. However, during the semester break, lending can take place an hour before the library closes everyday. All red spotted collection lent must be return within an hour after the library opened on the next corresponding day.


SPP Service
This service is provided only to academicians and post degree students. Other staffs or patrons that need this service are requiring to request and get approval from their own department head or unit supervisor. They also need to set approval for the payment of photocopies, posts, telephones, facsimiles, internet access and other side cost affected when using these services.

Fines
If patron founded to be late in returning the loaned materials as the due date stated, they will be fined. Below is the amount compounded:

Second and subsequent weeks

RM0.20 per day (without maximum limit)

RM3.00 per hour

Fine compounded to lost or damaged materials

The loaner will be asking to pay the price of the lost or damaged material. The payment amount is based on the highest amount between the current price for the material and the price that the library pays for it during acquisitions. A part from that, the loaner who had lost or damaged the material also will have to pay the reprocessing fee of RM25.00 per item.

Fine compounded to lost or damaged materials which had no price attached to it.

Local product 

Pay approximately a maximum of RM100.00 and reprocessing fee of RM25.00 per item.

Imported product

Pay approximately a maximum of RM300.00 and reprocessing fee of RM25.00 per item.
